Welcome to the home page of Mark Quin.  My website is a collection of professional as well as personal aspects of my life because I love my work and all aspects of my life.

For the professional side of my life, I was fortunate enough to have parents   who instilled the work ethic of doing the job right the first time; I was also fortunate enough for people to take a chance on me to help start my career (thanks Wilson...I will never forget the lessons you taught me at work)  I started my career as a software developer programming in various languages like FORTRAN, Pascal, C, and Ada.  After working as a creative programmer for many years, I dove into the world of structured world of systems administration; first starting off as a VAX/VMS Systems Administrator then moving into the world of UNIX (specifically Sun Microsystems/Solaris).   Systems Administration proved to be my area of expertise (the structure, hardware and software all bundled into 1 package)

On the personal side of things, my number one favorite past time is flyfishing. It must have been all those years of fishing with dad.   There are other hobbies as well (rock climbing, golfing, ...) but flyfishing is without a doubt my biggest day dream.
